Kaka and Ronaldo?

Real Madrid's world-record transfer signing Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka could debut for the Spanish side on July 20 in a friendly match against Shamrock Rovers in Dublin, the Spanish club said Monday on its Web site. The record transfer has attracted the concentration of all the football supporters with raised eyebrows. Real Madrid is in great hunt for players with lavish budget.Madrid are to spend July 13-22 preparing for the new season at the Carton House training ground in Ireland said director general Jorge Valdano.Madrid have agreed to pay Manchester United a record 80 million pounds ($131 million) for Ronaldo and Kaka was signed from AC Milan for a reported fee of around ¤65 million ($92 million).

Asian tour affected for United

"They're all massive Ronaldo fans. Some of the fans in the Far East have even asked for their money back because one of the main reasons they were planning to come was to see Ronaldo play. He's widely regarded as the best player in the world and that was a huge crowd-puller. There are a lot of very disappointed people," the Daily Star quoted a club source, as saying. It's one of the biggest sporting events for years. Hopefully, the loss of Ronaldo will not put too many people off seeing the rest of their heroes play," said a source at the stadium. Surely the publicity of the club will be damaged by the recent events happening in the Manchester United club.Organisers had to fork out thousands of pounds to change the marketing literature for the games after sending out advertising posters and billboards containing pictures of Ronaldo.

Santa signed for Manchester City

Santa Cruz signed a contract with Man City on Monday in a deal that is reportedly worth 18 million pounds ($30 million)."It's been close to happening for a while," Santa Cruz said on the club's Twitter feed. "Now I can just focus on football and concentrate on doing my best for the club."Santa Cruz, who had three years remaining on the new Blackburn deal he signed last August, is City's second off season signing after England midfielder Gareth Barry joined from Aston Villa earlier this month.
"The organizers have spent a fortune on advertising. Now they are having to re-jig it all at the last minute, so there have been a few raised eyebrows, not to mention the cost," the source said.
