A common misconception
Recently, I read an interesting article wherein people who are obese staged a march protesting against those who taunt them. In these days where inhumanity and insanity are the order of the world, it is sad but true that obese people undergo certain amount of mental trauma. This can be attributed to two main reasons. One is inferiority complex. And the second thing is being ridiculed. In the first case, people suffering from this condition fear humiliation and they tend to get drawn towards themselves. In the latter case, it is the surrounding that gives them agony. Having said this, the problem of tackling obesity is increasingly becoming a psychological concept. What we often forget is that obesity is not a disease to be cured. It is a condition that we must overcome through proper planning and execution. Proper diet and exercise can definitely help anyone to overcome this condition. We must identify where the problem lies. We must take close count on the calories that we take in. We can also prepare a nutritional chart and keep track of the fat and carbohydrate content. Being on strict diet doesn’t mean that we must eat less. We need sufficient energy for our day to day activities and at the same time we should also ensure that excess fat is not accumulated.
