Healthy breakfast

When you begin your day with carbs, you get yourself into a nasty circle with a difficult way out. It explains your nutrition regime during the day.
You know a strong connection has recently been discovered between bad breakfast and many health-related problems. As you might know, our body consists of 100 trillion cells which need 114 various nutrients during the day. What you ate yesterday consists of two major groups of elements. The first group supplies energy (proteins, fats, carbohydrates). The second group supplies building materials (amino acids, vitamins, minerals, micro elements, etc). You spent energy yesterday when you were awake, and your body used the building materials at night to regenerate itself. Besides, your body has spent 1 liter of water during the night through breathing, sweating and morning visit to the bathroom.
So your body wakes up “empty” in the morning and on behalf of 100 trillion cells begs you, “Hey, give me back all the nutrients, energy and water I spent".

what is obesity?

Obesity is basically a state wherein the human body becomes excessively fat. In the recent years, more and more people are becoming obese, to say the least. The food we eat is not digested properly and it is not converted to energy. Instead, the fat component is accumulated in the body leading to obesity. People suffering from obesity, also suffer from various other problems like getting tired quite often, increased risk of blocks in the blood vessels and so on. In some cases, they also suffer from mental trauma. Obesity can also be due to various hereditary factors. Researchers point out that every person out of twenty is prone to be affected by obesity. Much depends on our eating habits. We have to ensure that we eat the right quantity at the right time. We must be careful not to eat excessively. Once affected by obesity, a person must take great care in restructuring his/her diet. Proper planning has to be made regarding the timings of the food intake and the necessary exercises that are to be taken to overcome this problem. A person can also seek proper medical guidance and work out accordingly. Last but not the least; one must never give up hope.

A common misconception

Recently, I read an interesting article wherein people who are obese staged a march protesting against those who taunt them. In these days where inhumanity and insanity are the order of the world, it is sad but true that obese people undergo certain amount of mental trauma. This can be attributed to two main reasons. One is inferiority complex. And the second thing is being ridiculed. In the first case, people suffering from this condition fear humiliation and they tend to get drawn towards themselves. In the latter case, it is the surrounding that gives them agony. Having said this, the problem of tackling obesity is increasingly becoming a psychological concept. What we often forget is that obesity is not a disease to be cured. It is a condition that we must overcome through proper planning and execution. Proper diet and exercise can definitely help anyone to overcome this condition. We must identify where the problem lies. We must take close count on the calories that we take in. We can also prepare a nutritional chart and keep track of the fat and carbohydrate content. Being on strict diet doesn’t mean that we must eat less. We need sufficient energy for our day to day activities and at the same time we should also ensure that excess fat is not accumulated.

Concerns to obesity

Obesity is nothing but an excess accumulation of body fat at least 20% over average desired weight. The body mass index ( BMI) should not exceed 27.8. It is a chronic condition considered by some to be a disability. The general prognosis for achieving and maintaining weight loss is poor; however, the desire for a healthier lifestyle and reduction of risk factors associated with life-threatening illnesses motivate many people toward diets and weight-loss programs. It never requires an inpatient stay, in general.

Certain related concerns to obesity are Cerebrovascular accident (CVA)/stroke, Cholecystitis with cholelithiasis, Cirrhosis of the liver ,Diabetes mellitus/Diabetic ketoacidosis, Heart failure, Severe hypertension, Myocardial infarction, surgical interventions (gastric partitioning/gastroplasty, gastric bypass), deep vein thrombosis. Depending on the patient’s age, physical condition/presence of complications, and life responsibilities he should be taken good care of and acute hospitalization is necessary.

Benefits of weight loss program

Nowadays many people have instigated social awareness programs for obesity and weight loss. We live in a world of instant gratification, and the promise of dramatic and easy weight loss is often difficult to ignore. In the real world, however, true and lasting weight loss is a gradual process with many ups and downs. It requires determination, knowledge, and support from friends and family.

Losing weight, and keeping the weight off, is a heady challenge and unfortunately one that many people are unable to meet. Not only do you have to struggle through the emotions and physical hurdles of weight loss, but you also have to handle the practical aspects - like cooking dinner when zipping through the nearest drive-through is so much easier.
Imagine instead that you are not doing it alone. Imagine that you have a team behind you supporting your efforts. That team could provide you with meal assistance and nutritional support. Then it would be beyond your perception. You will achieve your target within days’ time.

Childhood obesity

Childhood obesity is escalating. The numbers are increasing rapidly. Parents need to take an active part in the prevention of childhood obesity before it is too late. Prevention is the key to keeping your child/children from being faced with other serious illnesses.

Children who consume more food than the energy they exert, the extra food ends up being stored as fat in their little bodies. This creates obesity if not put into perspective early enough.

According to research, many children are obese because their parents are obese. Parents must realize that their children emulate what they see and what they hear. Therefore, parents must exude a healthy physical lifestyle.

Experts on child obesity recommend that children be encouraged to maintain their weight rather than to lose weight. This makes it a little bit easier for children. They are in their growing years and if they maintain their current weight, they will grow into that weight.

The diets to follow

The two major diets that we are suggested to follow are fixed menu diet and formula diet.

Formula diet
Most formula diets are balanced diets containing a mix of protein and carbohydrates. A small amount of fat is also one among the composition. Consumption of fat is also necessary in a small level. The advantage is that weight loss is usually quick, but it is very difficult to maintain. Additionally, these types of diets do not teach weight maintenance skills.

Fixed-menu diet
A fixed-menu diet gives you a list of all the foods you can eat. The foods are already selected and it is easy to follow the diet. This is an advantage for us. The disadvantage of this type of diet is that there is, by definition, a limited food selection and boredom can set in. Additionally, it makes spontaneity impossible, and travel or going out to eat becomes very difficult. This type of diet can work well in the short run but it lacks the lifestyle-changing eating skills that you’ll need once you’ve reached your target weight.
